THE FLAMING CREATURES (1963) Is an Avant Grade Art film by artist Jack Smith.  The film was made during the the era of the New York Underground Film movement that brought us art film artist like Andy Warhol and the Kuchar Brothers both which inspired John Waters.  The weird plotless film features male and female nudity and the police often raided showing in the sixties. Prints of the movie look awful because Smith shot the movie on old army surplus film that was about 15 years old.

LibriVox recording of The Life and Adventures of Santa Claus by L. Frank Baum. Read by Kristin LeMoine. This story of Santa Claus veers away slightly from the traditional stories of his beginnings. L. Frank Baum creates a world of fantasy that surrounds Santa Claus’s life. Orphaned at an infant he is found by the nymph Necile, who convinces the great Ak to allow her to raise Claus for her own. As he grows older he meets his fellow humans, and sees the neglect of children. This sets him on the...

I heard that someone wanted this cartoon. Here it is in all its glory. A buddy from the film restoration society Nashville office had it and he did the restoration. The one that I had was in awful shape. Poor color, poor soundtrack, and the whole works that was in poor shape. The film restoration society sent a whole package of puppetoons. More to come in the future.

LibriVox recording of The Blue Lagoon, by H. De Vere Stacpoole. Read by Adrian Praetzellis. Two shipwrecked children grow up on a South Pacific island. This beautiful story of adventure and innocent love was H.D. Stacpoole’s most popular work. Parents who may have seen the Hollywood film need not be anxious about the book's suitability for kids -- the author's treatment of adolescent sexuality is almost mystical and very mild. The story of The Blue Lagoon (1908) continues in The Garden of God...

THE BING CROSBY - ROSEMARY CLOONEY SHOW In 1960, Bing Crosby and Rosemary Clooney teamed together in The Bing Crosby - Rosemary Clooney Show on CBS. THE MYSTERIOUS TRAVELER The Mysterious Traveler ran on Mutual from December 1943 until about September of 1952. During its magnificent run, it was nominated for the coveted Edgar award for  "Best Radio Drama" in 1949, 1951 and finally garnered a hands down win in 1953. The only show...

LibriVox recording of My First Summer in the Sierra, by John Muir. Read by Adrian Praetzellis. The journal of nature-lover John Muir who spent the summer of 1869 walking California’s Sierra Nevada range. OK, I have to admit this this is a strange collection. In the late 1980's and early 1990's, I worked for Kmart behind the service desk and the store played specific pre-recorded cassettes issued by corporate. This was background music, or perhaps you could call it elevator music. Anyways, I saved these tapes from the trash during this period and this video shows you my extensive, odd collection. Until around 1992, the cassettes were rotated monthly. Then, they were replaced weekly. Finally...
